Abstract

|
Sodium lauryl sulphate(SLS) has been used as a model irritant in the study of skin irritation and there have been many SLS exposure methods to answer different questions. I reviewed the varous methods and factors that may influence the outcome of these of these SLS exposure studies. I also introduced the guidelines on SLS exposure tests in order to ensure a uniform approach to irritancy test using SLS. I hope this brief review will be helpful in the study of irritation using standardized SLS exposure methods.
